When we came back from holidays we were surprised to see that we were making a movie. Everyone was very excited as we haven’t made a movie yet.
As usual everyone had to plan out what we were going to do our movie about. Lots of kids chose to do their News Report on visiting the pools on their holidays, The Royal Melbourne Show and having friends come over.
Firstly we made our storyboard about what we were doing our movie on then we did our script. We had to have a news reporter and of course ourselves to talk about our holidays. Then we could start to record our movie. After we edited it with music, sound effects and photos.
TOOL: iPad- iMovie
1. We had to transfer our video to box.
WHAT IS BOX?
Box is an app on the iPad . You can store anything in the app, at school we store maths work, ERP work and lots of other things.
2. Then we add it to studentshare which is something that students and teachers from our school can get into.
3. Now we post a post about the task which is this post. 2 students from my class will comment on my blog to give me feedback.
Did you enjoy the movie?
What feedback will you give me?
My class watched a video on BTN about a peace prize. Some of us predicted what it was, most of us thought it was a medal and others thought differently. The story was amazing! After we had watched the video twice and took notes we answered some question. We answered all the questions in full sentences after we had answered them all, we commented on the BTN video. The comment was to share our thoughts about Malala.
SOME OF THE QUESTIONS WERE….
Who started the Nobel Peace Prize?
Describe the story behind why the Nobel Prize was started.
What fields of achievement is the Nobel Prize awarded?
ABOUT MALALA AND HER LIFE…..
Malala lives in Pakistan and in her country girls can’t have an education. So Malala and a few of the other girls protested to say that girls should be allowed to learn and have an education. Later she got shot in the head and had to go on a plane a fly to the UK so that they could fix what had happened, luckily Malala survived. Malala was one of the favourites to win the Nobel Peace Prize but she was unfortunate and didn’t win.

My class 5/6 JK has been working on natural disasters. Firstly we had to choose our natural disaster, then we had to brainstorm who is affected, who is involved (helps) and important key facts. Secondly we had to use a cross classification chart to get information about what it looks like, smells like, affects and wonderings. After we had filled that out we wrote an information report and a poster for our expert groups. In our expert groups we shared what we had learnt.
I chose to do it on Tsunamis. I have completed my information report and brainstorm but I’m still finishing my poster. None of us are up to the expert groups yet.
What natural disaster would you choose?
What natural disaster has been happening lately around the world?
This term we did something new which not many people knew about, it was a Student Proposal!! At the start I was completely confused until I got my sheet and I started to work on it. The Student Proposal was based on the government and our interest. I choose to do it on netball and I linked it to the Roles and Responsibilites of government. Once we had finished our booklet we had to research for information.
I am presenting my information on a poster.

This term for art we have been focusing on Traditional and Contempary art, but we have been focusing mainly on trees.
WHAT IS TRADITIONAL ART? Traditional art is basically a landscape but it has lots of detail. Traditional art is also culturally significant. Fine art references to European traditions are in oil paintings, sculpture or architecture. Traditional Latin American art describes the indigenous cultures that produce baskets, masks and pottery as well as paintings. Traditional art symbols incorporate native myths or stories.
WHAT IS CONTEMPORARY ART? contemporary art refers to art made and produced by artists living today. Today’s artists work in and respond to a global environment that is culturally diverse, technologically advancing, and multifaceted. Working in a wide range of mediums, Contemporary artists often reflect and comment on modern-day society.
It is heaps of fun and right now I am working on my Contemporary tree! My Contempary is made out of cardboard and is going to be the size of a human. The message for my tree is to stand up for yourself that’s why my tree is going to be human size.
